Hello and Welcome
VISPA (Vision Impaired Service Providers Alliance) Vision Week will take place from October 9-15, 2011. It is an opportunity for the four main groups providing care and services to people affected by sight loss in Ireland to raise awareness of issues affecting our community.
This year we are calling on the government to make no more budget cuts that will negatively impact families affected by sight loss.
Thursday, October 13
Meet at Stephen’s Green & Grafton Street at 10:30am
March begins at 11:00am
Join us on World Sight Day – Thursday, October 13 – as we ask lawmakers to ‘See Our View’. The 8% cut to the blind pension only resulted in a savings to the government of €244,000 but was felt acutely by families and individuals who depend on the pension to get by.
Throughout the week, we’ll profile some of the stories of people affected by these cuts. Check back daily to read more.
